First Model Of A New Generation Ultra-Portable Laptops Debuts

PC laptop makers are starting to roll out notebooks that compete the MacBook Air. The first were pricey, but Toshiba just announced a sub-$1000 unit.

These are "executive" laptops, good for most advisors if you get an i7 processor. Toshiba's Portege Z830.

as an additional workstation these new laptops are great. I would be hesitant to use a Toshiba as my primary laptop as the warrantee and services associated to any repair take you out of service. For us, Dell has been a great partner and sends an in-person tech out timely.

If only Dell had something like this... I love Dell's Gold Tech Support - worth every penny (did I get the em dash right, Andy?)- but I've not seen anything in their lineup that has the features and sleek design of the MB Air. Please correct me if I've missed something.
